Wireless Car Partners with SAIC to Develop Telematics Solutions
Wireless Car of Gothenburg, Sweden, has entered into an agreement with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), based in San Diego, California, to jointly develop, deploy and sell telematics solutions to vehicle manufacturers, commercial fleets and network operators.
By combining Wireless Car's expertise in telematics infrastructure services such as connectivity and billing with SAIC's experience in information technology and systems integration, the two companies expect to develop a next-generation, end-to-end telematics infrastructure solution. They will offer OEMs a platform that incorporates safety and security, diagnostics, prognostics and infotainment.
According to Wireless Car's COO Gary Hallgren, the partnership is looking to capture a sizable slice of the telematics market. Initially, the companies will market the integrated solution to their respective customers, and then work together to further penetrate the nascent telematics market.
