Fast Food Group Puts Mobile
Customer Data Collection to the Test
geoVue of Boston,
Massachusetts, has announced that Allied Domecq QSR, parent company
of such notable fast food chains as Dunkin’ Donuts and
Baskin-Robbins, is currently using its latest product for mobile
data collection, interVue.
interVue leverages handheld technology to provide a Web-based
framework for capturing, consolidating, and analyzing real-time
customer survey data in a central repository for enterprise-wide
access.
The interVue application was co-developed with Allied Domecq QSR
and now is commercially available.
Currently, Allied Domecq QSR is using interVue-loaded PDAs to
conduct field research across multiple sites. The interVue system
transmits data directly to a consolidated warehouse for immediate
analysis on decision factors such as origin/destination routes,
time-of-day sales, and customer satisfaction.
interVue is aptly described by the slogan "Survey once, use
many," because companies like Allied Domecq QSR can capture
data for a host of analyses that can run independently at the
departmental level, such as customer profiling, brand expansion and
market preparation.
Commenting on the initial benefits of geoVue’s interVue, Denise
Carleton, Allied Domecq QSR’s national director of market planning
and research, said, "Early results from the system lead us to
believe that interVue will substantially enhance both our network
development analysis and product mix planning."
Carleton added that Allied Domecq QSR expects a significant
enhancement across multiple operational areas as a result of the
interVue rollout, including marketing, real estate, and operations,
and stressed that any company needing to build up its base of
customer data can also experience these cross-departmental benefits.
