Mobile Wireless System Helps 50 Police Agencies Handle Traffic Violations

LYNDHURST, NJ, June 26 /CNW/ - Xplore Technologies(R) Corp. (TSE:XPL) a leading international developer, producer and distributor of rugged wireless computer systems and GTBM, Inc. a software developer and solutions provider, jointly announced the deployment of an innovative and powerful mobile
computing system to more than 50 law enforcement agencies in the New Jersey area.

This system, INFO-COP, is a wireless based information software system that provides police officers in the field with direct access to motor vehicle and warranty information within seconds. INFO-COP works in conjunction with Xplore's rugged wireless Pen Tablet computers to provide officers with fast access to vital records including the transmission of photo images from a growing suite of available databases including NLETS, State Wanted, NCIC, DMV, INFO-COP (tracks warnings and summons) and third party CAD software suites. Multiple queries are initiated with a single touch allowing an officer to look up 6 license plates at one time. In addition, extensive logging of all transactions and messaging provides valuable history files. Both INFO-COP and Xplore's rugged hardware systems are marketed by GTBM, a premier authorized Xplore channel partner.

"The combination of our INFO-COP software with Xplore's rugged computing systems has been an ideal partnership," said Rich Picolli, President and Owner of GTBM. "INFO-COP was designed to be easy to use, yet provide officers with a powerful information tool that gives them the data they need, when they need it. Xplore's rugged Pen Tablet computers are ideally suited as the law enforcement market continues to use more rugged, wireless enabled, Tablet computers. We believe the opportunities for this combined solution are extensive as evidenced by the continual addition of new agencies to our growing family of users," Mr. Picolli added.

"We are pleased to be working with GTBM as we jointly expand the market for proven rugged mobile wireless computing systems," said Brian Groh, President and CEO of Xplore Technologies. "INFO-COP is a powerful wireless information package that is both easy to use and highly functional. Our GeneSys systems have been selected by an increasing number of public safety agencies throughout the United States. This distribution partnership with GTBM and the inclusion of their wireless software, accessories and database access has resulted in significant growth in the deployment of systems to police departments in New Jersey. GTBM's commitment to their law enforcement customer base is evident in the quality of service and support programs they provide," Mr. Groh added.

A partial listing of customers in the New Jersey area include the police departments of Jersey City, Jefferson, Ridgewood, Union County, Mountainside, Newton, West New York, Rahway, Hopatcong, Brigantine, Lyndhurst, Glen Rock and South Brunswick.

GTBM markets the INFO-COP system as a complete solution. This package includes wireless software, rugged Xplore Tablet Computers, Xplore's law enforcement vehicle mounting systems, wireless access and a range of professional support service programs including 24x7 technical support. Xplore's GeneSys(R) II and GeneSys(R) Maximus have been engineered and produced based on a patented ruggedization method and are ideally suited to the law enforcement operating environments. Additional GeneSys(R) product features include Ultra Hi Brite TFT and Active Transflective 10.4"-12.1" color screens, Intel(R) Pentium(R) (up to 700MHz) processors, resistive pen/touch digitizers and integrated wireless (WAN, LAN, dGPS) options. Additional vertical market hardware elements include durable docking stations, backlit keyboards, integrated camera options and a range of performance-matched
