Apple Makes iSynch iPod through Handhelds & Bluetooth

Apple CEO Steve Jobs today announced a new application for the company's iPod handheld called iSync that allows iPod users to share data between their handheld and a cell phone. The iSync software also works with .Mac, so that users can sync up address books, calendars, and other pieces of data among Mac-based devices. iSync boasts Bluetooth data connections for both handsets and desktops. Jobs also said that both Sony Ericsson and Cingular Wireless are working with Apple on developing iSync products and services.

MobileInfo Advisory & Comments: Synchronization between iPod and smart phones through Blurtooth connection moves it towards a business professional. That was not iPod's original target customer base. But it will make iPod more useful.
