Columbitech's VPN Solution Certified By Check Point's OPSEC Programs

STOCKHOLM - August 26, 2002 - Columbitech, a Swedish developer of software for secure wireless access to corporate data, today announced that Columbitech Wireless VPN supports Check Point's VPN-1 and FW-1. It is the first wireless VPN product to be certified by Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.'s OPSEC program.

The rigorous OPSEC testing verifies that Columbitech Wireless VPN can be integrated into management and policy tools of Check Point's FireWall-1(r) and Check Point VPN-1(r) products. This integration
provides Check Point customers with the key Columbitech benefits of secure wireless access to corporate data, superior data compression, always-on VPN connectivity, and seamless network roaming - all controlled with their existing Check Point management tools.  Furthermore, the integration benefits VPN resellers serving the enterprise market, who can augment their Check Point offering with the
integrated Columbitech solution. Resellers can thus improve their offering with features that give them an advantage over competitors with basic VPN packages.

The integration enables a system administrator to transparently monitor Columbitech Wireless VPN using standard Check Point management tools. This benefits the enterprise customer in that they now have the ability to complement an existing wireless environment with the performance and enhanced connectivity of Columbitech Wireless VPN while employing Check Point management tools. This minimizes the complexity for Check Point customers, who can continue using Check Point network management tools
and policy servers that are currently installed.

"We have found that companies are eager to add wireless VPNs connectivity for their mobile staff, but not at the expense of a convenient interface and high-performing connections," said Pontus Bergdahl, CEO Columbitech. "OPSEC certification means that Columbitech can easily provide optimized wireless performance and convenience for enterprises considering or already using a Check Point VPN in
conjunction with a wireless network."

Columbitech Wireless VPN is part of Columbitech Wireless Suite.
