IBM Gives Data Access Over any Network Via WEA
IBM developed the WebSphere Everyplace Access (WEA) platform solution to provide employees network access via any device on any network. The WEA product expands IBM's e-business software framework beyond the desktop. WEA builds on such standard interfaces as
SyncML, WAP and LDAP. The functionality the WEA client component brings to database queuing, device management and security is key -- WEA enhances the client's core capabilities by adding intelligent notification and calendaring, device management and location-based services. Asia Computer Weekly

enhancement to IBM's WebSphere will make the product more attractive
for mobile applications. WebSphere had many of these features
already available before. Now WEA offers delta increment in
functionality, better packaging, active marketing and hopefully
better technical support by way of more IBM resources trained in
mobile enhancements to WebSphere.
