London Cabbies to Process Credit Card Payments over GSM Networks

After a successful market test earlier this year, more London cabbies will use GSM wireless technology to process credit card payments from passengers. Cabbies don't pay to use the processing system from Transaction Networks Services. Passengers pay an 11.5 percent charge over the fare to use their credit cards.

MobileInfo Comments and Advisory:  Using Visa transactions through wireless networks is straight forward technology. Interesting twist to this trend is 11.5% surcharge to the passengers. That will dissuade most people from using credit cards for taxis.
