Thin Technologies Offers Retail Management System Incorporating Point of Sale
Thin Technologies (TTL) offers an end to end retail management system incorporating Point of Sale (POS) terminal functionality with fully integrated eftPOS, communicating with a Back Office server hosting the integrated financial application. The Thin System delivers unparalleled functionality and versatility with extremely low entry and operating costs.
Using technology and software developed by Sun Microsystems (Sun) and Oracle Corporation (Oracle), the innovative thin client platform provides the retailer with a robust solution, suitable for small, medium and large operations.
In its most basic form, Thin Client technology uses a browser or client software package to access information on another computer running as a server. Thin Clients only require hardware and software capable of capturing, requesting and presenting information, with minimal processing and storage capability. This enables the cost and complexity to be shifted from the client to the server.
The solution offered by Thin Technologies is unique, providing retailers with a low cost system offering fully integrated POS, eftPOS and accounting functionality. The Thin System offers an attractive solution to each player in the retail chain - from manufacturer to wholesaler, distributor to retailer.

thin-client solution from Australia seems to have applications in
mobile POS environment. Hutchison's interest in this solution must be
related to that.
