MobileInfo Comments and Advisory: It is interesting to note that Cingular has decided to go on CDMA route in South America, while within USA, it opted to go the GSM/GPRS route. On the handset front, Qualcomm's MSM6500 chip set is highly promising because it offers a single phone for three most common networks being deployed today. Would GSM monopoly buy Qualcomm's marketing push? Let the consumers and network providers vote and force the parochial business interests be set aside.
