IBM Improves Mobile Applications
IBM announced it is working to make it easier for businesses to extend portal applications to mobile devices and to convert data to voice. In an effort to shift from cool gadgets to real applications, the company will soon make available WebSphere Voice Application Access, which will allow mobile workers to access data from multiple applications via a single phone call. Other IBM applications in the works include receiving responses graphically, such as displaying flight information as a chart, and voice-translation software, which will read off flight schedules.
