1. Treo Communicator Price Trimmed to $99 for the Holidays
Handspring, Inc. announced a holiday offer for its Treo 180 communicators for a price of $99 after mail-in rebate. For a limited time, and only while supplies last, customers who purchase a Treo 180 or 180g with a GPRS service contract from T-Mobile will be eligible to receive $150 through a mail-in rebate. Treo communicators combine a mobile phone, Palm OS organizer, e-mail, and Web browsing into one compact device. Built-in thumb operated keyboards make sending e-mail, messages easier. The $99 after rebate incentive on Treo 180 is exclusively available at www.handspring.com. A GSM service contract from T-Mobile that includes a 10MB or higher GPRS data plan (recommended for Treo customers) is required to qualify for the rebate. 2.Itronix launches wireless-enabled ruggedized notebook
Itronix today launched its new wireless-enabled, ruggedized notebook, the GoBook II. The new notebook supports seamless roaming between different wireless networks, including 802.11b, CDMA 1xRTT, CDPD, and GPRS. The GoBook II uses a Pentium IV 1.7GHz processor and sports a 30 GB hard drive. The new device is currently available to enterprise customers.
