1. Hutchison unveils UK 3G pricing (Source Thinkmobile)
Hutchison 3G UK recently announced that it would launch its
much-anticipated third-generation wireless service, dubbed
"3," in mid-March, with pre-orders starting on Feb. 22.
The company also revealed additional details about pricing plans for
the service. Customers can choose from a prepaid package and two
monthly plans.
Under the prepaid plan, called "3ToGo," voice calls on the
3 network are 8 cents per minute, while off-network calls are about
16 cents a minute. Text messages are 16 cents, picture messages are
40 cents and video messages are 82 cents each. Some content,
including e-mails, is free until June 30.
The two monthly plans offer subscribers a choice of 1,000 minutes of
voice calls, 100 video call minutes and 250 text messages for $98;
or 2,000 minutes of voice calls, 200 video call minutes and 500 text
messages for $163 a month. Both require 12-month contracts.
