SPOKANE, WA (April 24, 2001) Itronix Corporation, a world leader in the design and manufacture of ruggedized, wireless mobile computing solutions, has been named as a Sears Partner In Progress for 2000. The award, presented annually to the vendor companies making the biggest contributions to Sears, Roebuck and Co. business growth and customer service, was given at an event hosted by Sears Chairman and CEO Alan J. Lacy at Sears headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL on April 10. More than 10,000 vendor sources competed for the honors.
This year’s award marks the third time that Itronix has been named a Partner In Progress. The company was recognized this year for its exceptional help desk services, supplied in support of the 12,500 Sears Home Services technicians currently using Itronix wireless mobile computing products. Itronix handled over 36,000 calls in 2000 and attained a 92% first-time call resolution rate.
“Itronix is honored to once again receive the Sears Partners In Progress award,” said David Clark, Vice-President, Client Services for Itronix Corporation. “Our goal at Itronix has always been to drive the success of Sears field service organization with superior products, service, and support. Having been recognized for the first two in 1995 and 1998, respectively, this year’s award for our help desk support substantiates our total customer commitment. We thank Sears for its acknowledgement of our efforts, and look forward to serving Sears and its employees in the future.”
In remarks delivered at the Partners In Progress awards presentation, Matt Cummins, Relationship Manager, Sears Product Service Information Technology, said, “As the manufacturer of the ruggedized laptops used by the Home Services In-home technicians, Itronix has provided excellent support of those devices. They raised the bar in 2000 by becoming the help desk for our in-home technicians. Within three months of piloting the process, we turned over all help desk functions to Itronix.
“The help desk has carried on the tradition set by the rest of Itronix, of caring for its customer,”
Cummins continued. “They always go that extra mile to make sure that a technician is operational and can service our Sears’ customer. Congratulations to Itronix for being a 2000 Partner in Progress.”
