NEWS ACQUISITIONS, MERGERS & AGREEMENTS Toshiba, Taiyo Yuden and IBM Japan to Establish Bluetooth Qualification Company In anticipation of the worldwide adoption of Bluetooth technology, among device manufacturers and consumers, alike, three global wireless players, Toshiba Corporation, Taiyo Yuden Co., Ltd, and IBM Japan, Ltd., have announced the establishment of a joint venture company that will authorize the use of the Bluetooth logo. The logo is a seal of authenticity that assures consumers that products are fully Bluetooth compliant. The new company will benefit Japan-based manufacturers, as it will make it convenient for them to obtain qualification of Bluetooth-enabled products. Overview of new joint venture
The company is capitalized at $354,200 and will be owned 80.5 percent by Toshiba, 10 percent by Taiyo Yuden, and 9.5 percent by IBM Japan.
