The CDMA solution will ensure the fast, secure transfer of data and provide a richer wireless Internet browsing experience than currently available, the companies said in a joint statement.

The Palm-based Web service is intended to attract not only Palm users wanting a richer browsing experience, but also enterprise customers seeking to access critical corporate data.

• PIM services
• Access to personal and corporate e-mail
• E-commerce purchase option
• Access to relevant information on local and national events

• Access to Web content via the Sprint Wireless Web
• As part of Sprint PCS Wireless Web for Business suite and Palm’s wireless enterprise solutions, enterprise customers will have access to critical corporate information from sales tool applications to corporate directories.

The two companies will work together on the development of future Palm-enabled mobile Internet services via Palm OS development community and the Sprint PCS application developers program. Expect to see the applications and hardware devices for the CDMA network throughout 2001. Palm users can also expect to see a CDMA wireless modem for their Palm devices by mid-year.

Meanwhile, Palm users can purchase a Palm Web Connectivity Kit that will allow them to connect their Palm handhelds to a Sprint PCS Internet-enabled phone using a data cable, a Palm handheld adapter and CD-ROM.
