SkyGo Teams with Qpass to Add M-Commerce Functionality

For companies looking to extend the Internet shopping cart model to wireless devices, Qpass and SkyGo plan to offer an end-to-end wireless solution that will handle the entire lifecycle of a mobile commerce transaction from the marketing through to the microtransactions.

SkyGo Wireless Marketing Platform will deliver wireless promotions via the SkyGo network while Qpass mobile commerce platform and eWallet credential storing function will manage customers’ personal and payment-related information.

M-Commerce Solution

  • A customer receives targeted promotions from SkyGo merchants that they can act upon by way of an effortless "one-click action."
  • Once personal or credit card information has been entered, there is no need to enter it again, as the Qpass m-commerce platform securely manages and transfers payment data for any m-commerce transaction triggered by a SkyGo’s marketing offer.
  • All transactional information is delivered to the merchant’s order processing system.
  • A digital receipt is captured and stored for the customer’s future reference.

Qpass technology will enable SkyGo to offer its merchants an immediate "buy now" functionality in conjunction with real-time promotional offers, said Chase Franklin, co-founder and CEO of Qpass.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: This capability will be utilized with trusted vendors only because consumers will resist one-click charge for other transactions. Security continues to be an issue in spite of efforts by the industry.  What we need is end-to-end security interated with backend Financial Systems and banking infrastructure. We are way off from that objective presently.  We expect that from the big players like IBM, EDS, Oracle, HP, and others.
