MCC Partners with Symbol to Offer Solutions for the Mobile Workforce

Mobile Computing Corporation (MCC) has entered into an agreement with Symbol Technologies to offer solutions for the mobile workforce in such vertical markets as field service, route sales, general merchandising, healthcare, and logistics.

The offering will comprise of MCC’s m-LINX suite of products along with Symbol’s vast line of mobile computing devices, targeting enterprises that depend on a highly productive mobile work force.

Features of MCC’s m-LINX Suite

  • An end-to-end solution using a combination of off-the-shelf technologies and MCC-developed applications.
  • Utilizes standard Windows CE and Windows 2000, platforms and development tools as well as a variety of wireless data network technologies.
  • Initial M-LINX modules include the following applications:
  • Dispatch
  • Work Order Processing
  • Routing and Scheduling
  • Messaging/Wireless e-mail
  • Vehicles Location/GPS
  • DOT Logs
  • State Fuel Taxes/IFTA
  • Inventory Management

Commenting on the partnership, the vice president of Logistics Systems Group at Symbol Technologies Barry Issberner said, "This relationship will drive the growth of both existing and new markets for wireless data technologies, platforms and products built around open standards that will yield new capabilities and superior value for our customers,"
