In the name of efficiency, YAHOO!, Inc. has joined the list of major Internet companies such as Critical Path, Intranets.com and Intuit that have recently licensed Pumatech’s Intellisync™ synchronization engine.

YAHOO! intends to integrate Intellisync software as the default synchronization solution for users of YAHOO! Calendar, YAHOO! Address Book, YAHOO! NotePad. Intellisync will allow the user to synchronize information from these applications with their mobile device or PC application of choice, as it compiles all the changes and updates them simultaneously on all applications and devices.

Intellisync’s simple user interface and ability to synchronize information between devices such as PC and handhelds will offer our users an attractive mobile experience to keep their business and personal lives in sync and organized, said Lisa Pollock, senior producer at YAHOO!

Features of Intellisync:

  • Key component of MAP, Pumatech’s architectural platform that enables the building of mobile solutions by providing Internet access, change detection, notification, and wireless synchronization to mobile devices.
  • Supports all mobile devices and standards.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory:  Pumatech was among the first in handheld synchronization game. However they were slow in moving their technology to the enterprise. Now they are working hard to meet the challenge from several synchronization players like Synchrologic and fusionone. Notwithstanding that, this partnership with Yahoo will help it a great deal in becoming a platform for the portals like Yahoo.
