NEWS MARKET OUTLOOK Wireless Devices to Overtake PCs as the Most Popular Web Access Devices By 2004, tech savvy users will prefer to access the Internet on the go with a wireless Internet device such as palm computer equipped with wireless modem, or two-way pagers rather than sit down in front of a PC, says a recent report released by Cahners In-Stat Group. According to the report, "Mobile Internet Access Devices, Surfing the ‘Net on the Fly,’" we will see a boom in the popularity of wireless Internet devices, with shipments reaching double and triple digit growth through 2004. Even though not all carriers will roll out data services, all wireless Internet access device markets will see strong growth, said Ken Hyers, a senior wireless analyst with In-Stat. Findings:
