Toshiba’s Type II PC Card offers Larger Storage Capacity

The Computer System Group of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. recently announced the availability of the 2.0 GB, 1.8-inch Type II PC Card Hard Disk Drive, allowing mobile users to back up data and access large files while on the move.

Toshiba claims that its 2.0G HDD has the largest storage capacity of any Type II PC Card form factors, eliminating the need for the mobile professional to carry data from multiple diskettes or CDs while on the road.

In addition to storing large files from a PC and removable applications (data back-up capacity equivalent to three CDs), the credit card-size HDD also serves as a bridging device to transfer digital data from electronic equipment with a PC Card slot, the company said.
