Aligo Launches Java Mobile App Server

Enterprises looking to leverage their investment in Java-based technologies may consider wireless software company Aligo, Inc.’s release of M-1 Mobile Application Server (M-1 Server). The New York-based company claims that the M-1 Server is the first commercial Java-based mobile application server designed to enable Java developers, regardless of experience, to rapidly develop, deploy, and update mobile enterprise applications. Built for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), the M-1 Server enables developers to build mission-critical enterprise applications such as CRM, field force automation, e-mail, and calendaring.

Features of the M-1 Server

  • Presentation optimization: All mobile devices are supported, with output automatically rendered to fit screen size, browser type, and memory capacity.
  • Built-in server-side intelligence and data loss protection: Both session and cache management features are incorporated in the Server.
  • Multiple messaging channels: The Server has a unified system for managing multiple channels such as SMS, fax, voicemail, e-mail, and others.
  • Intelligent back-end data access and connection pooling: The Server manages a pool of connectors to back-end information in a thread-safe manner along with a fallback recovery and rollback in the event of an error in the transaction.

The Aligo M-1 Sever is currently available.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: It is good to see J2EE-based mobile application servers. However, we think that decision to select Java platform should be made in the context of enterprise application development standards, not just for mobile applications  Those enterprises choosing J2EE for other applications, should look at Aligo for mobile applications.

Note: This news release may contain forward-looking statements. Readers should take appropriate caution in developing plans utilizing these products, services and technology architectures.
