XcelleNet and AlterEgo Partner to Provide Device Management and Delivery Solutions

As enterprises become increasingly dependent on wireless technologies, the management of resources, a multitude of mobile devices and applications, can be a challenge for any IT manager. To offer a solution, XcelleNet Inc. and AlterEgo Networks have joined forces to deliver a comprehensive solution that centrally manages the deployment and maintenance of mobile applications and devices, regardless of the device type and bandwidth connection.

Components of the solution

  • XcelleNet’s Afaria™ allows enterprise IT staff to centrally managed a host of different devices from laptops to PDAs to RIM pagers while deploying applications, hardware and software tracking, and system back-up to mobile devices.
  • AlterEgo’s Adaptive Performance Suite™ integrates with the enterprise’s existing Web infrastructure to adapt and deliver corporate data for the mobile worker. Information is not only optimized to fit each device but also personalized to meet the needs of each end user.

The companies said that by combining their expertise will enable enterprise customers to deploy virtually any type of application or content to virtually any type of net access device, while effectively managing the hardware and the software.

In a highly competitive business environment, consistent availability of business applications and related corporate information is critical to the productivity of the mobile worker, commented Henry Rosen, senior vice president of business alliances at XcelleNet.

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: Afaria has a good mobile management software. AlterEgo will benefit from this because they must offer a managed infrastructure service.
