Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: Compaq has successfully marched into the handheld market. We support the premise that PalmOS devices do not address many enterprise applications and need more functional, powerful and capable devices. Therefore, you need iPaq-like devices. IT professionals should understand that device costs may be very obvious but represent less than 20-25%  of the total cost of a solution per user when you consider network, amortized application development costs and management costs. Finally, if the device does not serve the purpose, it will stay in the pocket. By our comments, we certainly do not undervalue the role of PalmOS devices which do simplify our most basic needs of keeping ourselves organized and stay in touch.
