Qpass Unveils Hands-Free Purchasing
Qpass, based in Seattle W.A., and
Nuance of Menlo Park, C.A., have agreed to offer the Qpass TalkWallet, a
voice-enabled e-wallet and transaction service for m-commerce,
using speech recognition and voice authentication technology from Nuance.
The Nuance 7.0 natural language speech recognition engine and the Nuance
Verifier voice authentication software will be integrated into Qpass’s
m-commerce services. The Qpass TalkWallet will enable customers to make
purchases by a simple verbal request, eliminating the need for PIN-based
security and manual data input on mobile devices.
The Seattle company says that Qpass TalkWallet, which was built on its
commerce service, stores, manages and transfers personal payment information
for use during transactions, delivering it directly into a merchant’s
existing order processing system.
"In today’s highly competitive wireless environment, the ability
to just ‘say it’ and then ‘buy it’ provides carrier differentiation
and consumer satisfaction, said Charles Franklin, chairman and CEO of Qpass.
The Qpass TalkWallet, as a value-added service, will enable wireless
carriers and voice portals to increase their transaction revenue, decrease
churn, and retain loyal customers, he added.
