Trimble Introduces New Data Collector for Surveyors
Trimble of Sunnyvale,
Calif., has introduced the latest addition to the Trimble Toolbox of
Integrated Surveying solutions, the TSCe™ Controller. The handheld
data collector uses sight, sound, and touch to allow surveyors to
perform multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
By incorporating the Trimble GPS survey systems, Trimble Total
Solutions, and other third-party solutions, the Controller allows
surveyors to conduct a wide range of tasks by using touch or voice
functions.
- View survey data on a large graphic screen
- Take existing mapping and design data into the field and view
it as a background map
- Pull information from the map screen, using Trimble Survey
Controller™ Version 10, and then store it in the same job file
- Access the Internet and e-mail remotely using an external
modem or connecting network
- Record sound, using Trimble Survey Controller software, to
detect problems immediately via voice prompts and intuitive menu
selections
- Switch between GPS and Total Stations seamlessly
Based on the Windows CE operating system, the Controller runs
either the Trimble Survey Controller Software or Tripod Data Systems’
(TDS) Survey Pro software, and will also handle other applications
that support Microsoft Windows CE.
"This new functionality translates into increased
productivity for our survey customers since complete control is now
literally right at their fingertips, " said Bryn Fosburgh,
division vice president of survey for Trimble’s Engineering and
Construction Division.
