Astea and RPA Wireless Provide Wireless Global Access to CRM Data

The mobile landscape is littered with incompatible network platforms and a plethora of wireless devices, making it difficult for any enterprise to offer remote workers wireless access to corporate data while traveling nationally, never mind, internationally.

Taking up the challenge is Astea International Inc. and wireless application service provider RPA Wireless with the launch of AllianceLink for RPA. Astea’s AllianceEnterprise eCRM suite customers can now offer mobile employees wireless access to critical information using any two-way communications device over any network standard.

The AllianceLink for RPA standardizes the connection between AllianceEnterpriese’s two-way pager module and the RPA Wireless Gateway, which provides a single interface to all wireless carriers and devices as well as platforms and software packages.

"The AllianceLink for RPA and AlliancePager module effectively interface AllianceEnterprise to all wireless carriers and paging devices and consolidate data packet transmission and message confirmation services to a single provider," said Greg Cicio, vice president of strategic planning and corporate development at Astea. "Regardless of the wireless carrier to which a message is sent, and regardless of the return path from the field responding to the message, the interface is the same."

By way of a single connection to the RPA Wireless Gateway, AllianceEnterprise users can transmit time-sensitive information to their mobile colleagues and customers, said Dan Hurley, director of RPA Wireless.

AllianceEnterprise Suite eCRM offers the following modules:

  • AllianceEnterprise Suite front-office Infrastructure consolidates the management of information, materials, and people into a centralized resource shared throughout the organization.
  • AllianceEnterprise Suite front-office Functional Applications includes integrated field service automation, call center automation, sales force automation, and professional services.
  • AllianceEnterprise Suite front-office Optional Modules enable enterprises to expand the value of their investment with back-office integration, intuitive customization, and knowledge management tools.
  • Alliance Remote Suite is a complete line of mobile CRM solutions that extends an enterprise’s applications to field workers, delivering what they need when they need it.

"The concept of the AllianceEnterprise integrates all aspects of the company's sales and service processes and enables access to the consolidated enterprise system, Mr. Cicio explained. "Mix mobile CRM solutions are examples of how companies are connecting their enterprises with a variety of wireless devices best suited to each employee's unique job and information access requirements, from simple to complex."

Mobileinfo Comments and Advisory: This is a good combination of RPA's wireless ASP services and Alliance's eCRM applications.
