iPass Customers Will Access Wayport’s 420 Locations
Wayport has signed an
agreement with iPass, a provider of remote access services, to
provide broadband access capabilities in major U.S. markets.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Austin, Texas-based company
will offer iPass customers access to its over 420 locations,
including Wi-Fi wireless access throughout all gates and terminals
in airports and hotels and wired access in close to 100,000 hotel
guestrooms. iPass will distribute Wayport high-speed Internet access
directly, via its 700 Internet service provider partners and through
its 70 value-added reseller partners worldwide, as an integrated
part of the iPass Global Roaming Service.
This agreement will enable "iPass users to access more
locations and allows us to tap into their base of global enterprise
customers who connect every day," said David Vucina, Wayport
CEO. "Customers can purchase corporate and individual service
directly from Wayport or iPass."

coupled with the coverage of our existing service providers
worldwide, enables us to offer an unparalleled, global solution for
the roaming user," said Michael Mansouri, chairman and CEO of
iPass.
iPass Global Roaming Service
- Business travelers can use the same interface for dial-up, ISDN,
Personal Handy Phone System (PHS) and wireless and wired broadband
connections.
- Corporations receive one single, consolidated bill for all
employee transactions.
- The service includes all remote access components required for a
secure, uniform connection including VPN and personal firewall
software integration.
