Compaq Adds to iPAQ Family
Compaq Computer
Corporation has unveiled two new members of its iPAQ family of
PocketPC devices — the H3700 and H3800. Both handheld computers
will debut Microsoft PocketPC 2002 Premium Edition, which will
enable mobile professionals to access their corporate networks via
virtual private network (VPN) or the terminal services client (TSC).
The H3800 Series will offer a standard Secure Digital Memory slot
for integrated expansion while the H3700 will incorporate 64MB of
internal memory. The new iPAQ PocketPC models are described as
"sleek and elegant in design while offering unsurpassed
performance and expandability to meet the widest range of handheld
computing needs."

- Intel StrongARM 206 MHz
- Pocket PC 2002
- IPAQ File Store for non-volatile storage of critical data
- IPAQ Task Manager (utilities for Backup/Restore to Memory
Card, Self Test)
- Dashboard, a plug-in for the Today Screen allowing for
customization
The company also announced new options for the iPAQ PocketPC
family.
- Bluetooth Wireless Pack with Compact Flash Slot
adds
Bluetooth capability to the H3700.
- Secure Digital Memory Cards
adds internal storage of 64MB
or 128MB.
- Micro Keyboard
seamlessly fits on the bottom of the iPAQ
H3800 Series.
- Cover Pack
, which is standard with the H3800, protects the
screen from scratches and dust.
- AC and Auto adapters
allow for rapid recharging of the
iPAQ.
The H3700 Series is now available in North America while the
H3800 will be on store shelves in mid-November.
