Nexiq Introduces a New Paperless Proof of Delivery Service

Nexiq Technologies has announced ePOD, a paperless proof of delivery system, to improve communications and information flow for pick-up and delivery operations.

ePOD is a complete solution that leverages wireless LANs, the Internet, handheld devices and handheld applications to track items from the loading dock to the customer’s doorstep. This enterprise solution features a Web interface suited for route managers, customer service agents as well as customers to track the status of one or more items.

Route managers can also stop and route information on-line and communicate with drivers through the ePOD Web site. For system administrators, the ePOD administrative pages will allow them to manage each site’s users, devices, and other resources via a simple Web interface.

Nexiq’s proof of delivery solution seamlessly integrates with existing enterprise systems as well as with third-party routing and delivery applications.

ePOD Handheld Application for Drivers
Drivers can take advantage of the ePOD handheld application running on compatible handheld devices to create a route during the Load Process. A Route Temple identifying all the stops along a route is downloaded to the device. The Loader then co-ordinates items with stops by selecting the stop and scanning or entering the item to be delivered at that stop. The process is repeated for each stop. The route is then uploaded to the ePOD Server and is made available for Driver Download.

After downloading the delivery route, a driver can use his ePOD handheld to perform the following:

  • Access a list of all the stops along the route as well as a list of all the items to be delivered
  • Capture a signature at each stop
  • Identity those stops at which deliveries could not be made
  • Scan items as they are taken off the truck, and the system will automatically be updated accordingly
