encubate Technology Venture Invests $8 Million in Veriprise Wireless Corporation

encubate Technology Venture L.P. has invested $8 million in Veriprise Wireless Corporation (emerged from NextGen Technologies, Inc. in January, 2000).  Veriprise Wireless is a wireless platform and solutions provider for vertical and enterprise markets enabling wireless interaction of data and device.

Veriprise’s technology and software is about providing full, interactive connectivity between information and device. encubate believes that Veriprise is positioned to meet the needs of enterprises that want to enhance productivity of its workforce by supporting a multitude of different wireless devices, from phones to PDAs. The Veriprise Wireless Platform (VWP) allows wireless integration of enterprise data with minimal technical effort through the use of pre-written wizards and plug-ins.  Being software driven, the solution works across the spectrum of platforms.

Mobile Advisory and Comments: Another startup in wireless internet market that will map enterprise data on to handheld devices. MobileInfo thinks the market is getting crowded.  Technically, it is an easy problem to solve. The vendors must distinguish themselves. Veriprise says that its wizards will make it easy. Wizards are great where ease of developing is more important than efficient code and transaction performance. But let us reserve our comments till we see the product.
